About - Snuggly Stitches Ltd

Hi everyone! My name is Liv and I am the owner of Snuggly Stitches Ltd. I thought I'd share a bit about myself, how I got into crocheting and how Snuggly Stitches Ltd was created.

It all started when my younger sister got a crochet kit for her birthday in March 2024. She tried for weeks to learn but eventually gave up. I thought it looked interesting and she let me give it a try. I kept learning how to crochet every chance I could get. After two weeks, a lot of frogging and a lot of errors, I finally finished my first project - a little green dinosaur. I went to Hobbycraft and bought more yarn and more craft supplies the next day! I kept making different projects whilst working out what I enjoyed making. I absolutely love making plushies! I've tried making blankets, bags, jumpers, granny squares and tapestry crochet but always came back to amigurumi.

I kept practising and fell more and more in love with crochet with every project I started. I crocheted every chance I could get. At the time, I was studying a nursing degree. I was juggling home life, placements, assignments and lectures. Crochet became my way to relax and unwind from the stress. In August 2024, I started experiencing burnout and my mental health started to suffer but crochet helped me through the harder times. In October 2024, my physical health declined due to the stress of my degree. I had to take time off from my degree and I struggled to crochet at this time due to being so poorly and due to the pain I was experiencing. I started to improve in February 2025 and began crocheting again. I was so proud of myself as I continued to improve and love my hobby even more. I was happiest with a hook in my hand!

In June 2025, I was diagnosed with Hypermobile Ehlers Danlos Syndrome, Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome and my rheumatologist suspected I had Rheumatoid Arthritis too. At 21 years old, I was terrified and knew after having to take more time off from my degree that I couldn't manage it anymore. I dropped out of my nursing degree and kept crocheting. On the 8th of July 2025, I incorporated Snuggly Stitches Ltd. I didn't know what I was doing or any idea how to run a company.

I started off doing custom work for family and friends but I knew I wanted to go further if I could. My partner and I bought our first home together in August 2025 and immediately set up our spare bedroom as a craft room. We also rescued a lovely little dachshund called Poppy! She completed our family and provided me with plenty of love and company whilst at home! I kept crocheting and started writing my own patterns. I made Eeyore from Winnie the Pooh. Eeyore is still my proudest creation!

I'll be working on my own pattern for Tigger, Piglet and Pooh Bear throughout 2026 as I love Winnie the Pooh! In October 2025, I went full time into my business as working was becoming too difficult for my health. I launched my website on the 15th of October and within a few days made my first sale. I cried so many happy tears when the notification appeared on my phone telling me I had my first order!

At the end of October, I got an email saying I had a table reserved for a market I applied for in July. I did not have any stock ready and only two weeks until the market! I threw myself into crochet and market prep, making 65 plushies total for the market. I was so proud of myself and all the hard work I had put in. The best part was I loved every minute of it! My first market was a huge success, I sold out of all my mini plushies and only came home with 5 medium plushies and two large plushies! That was my proudest moment and made me realise I needed to keep going. I booked two more markets for December and whilst these didn't go as well as the first, they still did well and I was so proud of what I was creating.

That brings us up to now...
I got diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis in early December and life is continuing to change but I am determined to keep going. I'm booking more markets for next year and I can't wait to see where I end up on this adventure. I have a passion for crochet and to be able to make it my career is incredible. My health is much more manageable now I can choose my work hours and can work from home! I feel so lucky to be able to pursue my passion and to have an incredible support system around me.
